Research education, science awareness, and mentoring are a key part of the Harris Research Lab and our interactions with the community. The inter-disciplinary nature of the biochemical and biomedical research, we continually try to create an opportunity to engage students and community members with a range of science and engineering interests. Building on this idea, our lab develops and supports a variety of outreach activities and partnerships with Howard University Middle School of Mathematics & Science (MS2) . Through these efforts we have worked with many middle school students, held regular research events within the Howard University department of chemistry , and provide fundamental research training  in basic translational research and mentoring to the these future scientists. We’re lucky to be in a fantastic and supportive setting and look forward to continuing our work.
